Research Institution
PhaseSpace technology allows optical tracking of point light sources, reflectors or laser illuminated spots in 3D space with position accuracies of 10 microns from as far as 10 meters away and attitude measurements in the hundred micron range. Boeing, Lockheed martin, NRL and Sandia Labs use PhaseSpace technology for similar high resolution applications pushing the tracking technology with real time processing solutions. Scanning the deflections of the wing surface up to 10,000 times per second is possible using custom methods, providing real time position and orientation information. The 3D point data can be processed into a virtual computer model of the aircraft model over time to understand the deformation under different loading conditions.
