Abstract
We propose integrating COTS data mining software and available supporting acoustic databases to create the TSMS Operator Assistant. COTS data mining software such as NCR's TERADATA or CA's CleverPath will perform data analysis, association, and predictionto detect acoustic faults using TSMS hydrophone data. The results of this data mining will be integrated with existing NAVSEA databases to assist the TSMS operator. The Acoustic Signature Maintenance Log (ASML) contains vessel signature levels forvarious operating states and can be used to guide the data mining analysis. The Acoustic Stealth Manual (ASM) contains noise mitigation techniques and can guide ship's force on how to respond to acousticv noise faults. The integration of these pieceswill yield a tool that allows detailed analysis of TSMS acoustic data on the submarine while deployed but without requiring extensive training and time investment by ship's force.
