AbstractThe Maritime Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance (ISR) and Space Exploitation program is the development of a Magnetic Tracker (MT) Algorithm that uses the output of a high sensitivity magnetometer to determine 3-axis position of an underwater target, horizontal target velocity and 3-axis target magnetic moment of the underwater target. This system has two main functions (1) the aircraft can track the underwater target and (2) the accuracy of the target location will be sufficient to insure a high probability of an accurate weapon drop on the target. An aircraft equiped with a Magnetic Anomaly Detection (MAD) system and a Magnetic Tracker Algorithm will be able to track and identify submerged targets. With target location and speed data the aircraft can vector to the next expected position of the target drop a weapon or continue the tracking process.
