Abstract

This proposal describes a method for leveraging the advances made by the commercial industry both in technology advancement and in automatic code generation to utilize software design specifications to rapidly migrate signal processing software. Software code generators which utilize a graphical interface and generate code from a flow diagram exist today, but have typically generated software which cannot meet current realtime requirements. The proposed effort would target the sonar environment and utilize an Object Oriented approach towards developing realtime libraries and objects which could be coupled with automatic code generators to achieve both goals of satisfying realtime performance as well as dramatically reducing the costs associated with design, development, and test.
