Abstract

The ACMS is a remote monitoring system that enables Battlefield intelligence gathering, situational awareness, and precision targeting without risk of personnel loss. Progeny provides a cost effective high performance approach to by designing flexiblesignal processing, sensors, deployment and communications links. Fundamental to ACMS is a forward area dispersed array of acoustic UGS's that are remotely deployed by the Shadow 200 TUAV. The Progeny design is a modular approach that addresses; airlaunch and deployment, electronics, signal processing, and communications link.Air launch and deployment uses a rotochute descent mechanism that is designed to entangle itself in the tree top canopy. The unit incorporates a solar power array and rechargeable batteries. The sensor is highly accurate and directional, a significant improvement over current sensors that do not provide directional information.Spread spectrum technology, power control, directional antennas, and gateway concept create a low observable RF communications network. The gateway can be configured with different types of radios while maintaining the same UGS capability; protocol isdefined by the NFSS specification.Progeny Systems, in concert with the NFSS awardee, will ensure that all sensor messages integrate seamlessly into existing REMBASS ADU suite for data display and interpretation. The Progeny Systems ACMS approach has received strong endorsed by U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). According to USSOCOM the Progeny approach to ACMS
