AbstractDevelopment of a COTS-based, open architecture, ruggedized monitor for use as an "intelligent assistant" for the treating physician in aeromedical evacuation to assist with a critically ill but stabilized patient. The system utilizes direct feeds of hemodynamic data and manual entries of appropriate parameters, processes the information to determine hemodynamic stability and autonomic state, and give treatment suggestions to the team leader. The system design mitigates the adverse influences of the environment in military transport aircraft including ergonomically improved graphical interface, visual and audio alarms, and data interfaces.
