Abstract
The goal of this Phase II effort is to refine and scale software sneak circuit analysis techniques developed under a previous SBIR Phase I contract. During Phase II, these innovative techniques will be used to provide software-intensive systems withprotection against tampering and exploitation attempts. Sneak circuits represent a way to obfuscate source code and binaries and make them difficult to reverse engineer. After building a prototype set of tools, RCI will apply them on a pilot project. Thetools will be used to seed real-time software with software sneak circuits to counter known threats based upon predefined scenarios. RCI will then conduct a series of experiments to demonstrate that software sneak circuits provide adequate protectionagainst tampering without adversely impacting overall system performance (speed, I/O and memory utilization, etc.). Once proven, RCI will commercialize the technology and transition it into use on a MDA program.
