A NEW PROCESS IS PROPOSED FOR THE APPLICATION OF POLYMERIC MATERIALS FOR AUTOMOTIVE WINDOWS. SEMI-CRYSTALLINE POLYMERIC MATERIALS CAN BE RENDERED CLEAR THROUGH 3-D ORIENTATION VIA SOLID STATE PROCESSING. APPLYING THIS TECHNOLOGY TO A HYBRID POLYMER STRUCTURE CAN RESULT IN CHEMICALLY RESISTANT, MECHANICALLY STRONG, OPTICALLY CLEAR AND ECONOMICALLY VIABLE PLASTIC WINDOWS FOR GROUND TRANSPORTATION.
