Abstract

We have proposed to develop a multi-band, configurable, antenna array element of conformal or embedded design type, which can be used in place of the usual plurality of antennas operating in the range 0.1-to-4GHz for Navy aircraft and ship applications. Our approach is based on a configurable conformal UWB impulse antenna that we are currently developing for the USAF under an ongoing Phase II SBIR program. The technologies proven and developed under the Air Force contract apply closely to the development of the Navy antenna and reduce technical risk.
