Abstract
The firm proposes to continue the research on integrating engine failure and trending data to support Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM). The research will develop a prototype of the knowledge-based software analytical environment called the AFKS-RCMS (Air Force Knowledge Services – Reliability Centered Maintenance System). AFKS-RCMS supports the U. S. Air Force information technology strategy of using a web portal for single-point access of all enterprise wide information. AFKS-RCMS consists of two primary components: AFKS – the enterprise data warehouse of the GCSS-AF, and RCMS – a suite of RCM related analytical tools to enable CBM+ (Condition Based Maintenance Plus). The goal of the proposed research is to develop and test an AFKS-RCMS prototype in a relevant operating environment, and to mature the technology to TRL (Technology Readiness Level) 7 by the end of Phase II.
