Abstract
Scientific Monitoring will develop a high temperature (~200C) FADEC architecture for reliable turbofan engine control. Initially, two competing architectures will be studied to address the need for control distribution and multiprocessing. A software design environment will be specified that will enable control law implementation within a real time context in the high temperture architecture. This may entail the use of sophisticated software redundancy approaches to achieve reliable operation. Phase I will result in a prototype processor demonstration at high temperature as well as a recommeded architecture.
