Abstract
Military decision makers are faced with vast arrays of complex interrelated data from numerous sources leading to information overload for military planners and analysts. Probabilistic information strategies have shown significant promise towards improving the current state of information fusion. However, the ability and time required for SMEs to provide realistic probability estimates has prevented wider acceptance of the approach. To address this problem Securboration, in collaboration with working with BEA systems and Dartmouth College, propose the Expert Analyst Support Environment (EASE). EASE will guide SMEs through a process to quickly develop the probability knowledge required to support an array of fusion based systems directed towards improving /Situation Awareness. The Securboration team's innovation is focuses on the use of ontlogies/ generalized knowledge components to provide a robust representation of a specific domain space shielding SMEs from system and methodology issues while permitting domain focus.
