Abstract
SI2 Technologies, Inc. (SI2) proposes to utilize its System Integrated Design and Manufacturing methodology to develop a lightweight, low cost structurally integrated conformal aperture for an MTI radar and demonstrate its performance. Our proposed effort will develop the aperture for DARPA’s Micro Air Vehicle (MAV) with potential application to other small platforms. The Phase II will demonstrate the technology by fabricating a demonstration unit on the shroud of the MAV duct fan fairing. An engineered combination of electronic and structural materials will be used, so that the structurally integrated conformal aperture will meet both electronic and structural requirements. The conformal aperture will be integrated with the shroud structure using our Direct Write manufacturing technology and selected Structural Dielectric materials.
