Abstract

A prototype laser threat warning sensor capable of detecting pulsed and continuous wave (CW) laser irradiation of orbiting platforms will be developed. The sensing technique will cover the 0.4 to 12 micro-meter spectral band with high sensitivity. Thesensor will incorporate interferometric detection and pattern processing to enable wavelength and angle of arrival determination in daytime scenarios. The Phase II effort will include demonstration of the laser sensor approach in the visible/near IR bandand delivery of a prototype system.
