Abstract

SRS Technologies proposes to define the isomer radiation requirements for biological lethality to implement a warhead concept for use in biological storage bunker sterilization and ballistic missile defense applications. We propose to develop a demonstration experiment to show that the radiation from a 178Hf isomer would be suitable to neutralize lethal biological materials. We also propose to show how isomer-produced gamma radiation could be useful to other defense and commercial applications in eight ares, including:1. high energy lasers2. communications 3. industrial gamma radiation sources 4. food preparation (sterilization) 5. medical irradiation 6. power & energy applications 7. environmental cleanup 8. defense applications
