AbstractThe Intelligent Flight Dispatch Server (IFDS) enhances USAF C4I ability to perform flight dispatch of critical airlift assests. IFDS automates the flight dispatch process for Air Mobility Command (AMC) featuring a trainable decision support tool which is flexible and comprehensive. SPEC will integrate its existing knowledge of AMC flight operations and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to solve a real-world operational problem. IFDS will initially address European flight dispatch operations as a pilot program to be extended for world wide implementation at a later time. IFDS applies latest decision theory and machine learning methodologies to model dynamic conditions of the flight dispatch process. Seamless integration of IFDS applies latest decision theory and machine learning methodologies to model dynamic conditions of the flight dispatch process. Seamless integration of IFDS into the AMC computer netowrk will support multiple Air Force clients and be implemented through the AMC L-band SATCOM over the Inmarsat system for result feedback. This feedback of result allows system learning and improvement of its reasoning ability. Solution of the dispatch problem features application of SPCE s Trainable Intelligent Server Architecture (TISA). TISA provides support for: (1) a dynamically changing operational environment; (2) maintenance, use, update of flight domain knowledge; and (3) sufficient domain reasoning capacity to resolve future changes in the AMC mission requirements.
