Abstract
THE IMPACT OF DIFFERENCES BETWEEN ADVANCED DIGITAL FLY-BY-WIRE (DBFW) AND CONVENTIONAL TRANSPORT AIRCRAFT ON AIRWORTHINESS REQUIREMENTS AND CERTIFICATION FLIGHT TESTING WILL BE ENUMERATED, ILLUSTRATED AND ANALYZED. POTENTIAL SOLUTIONS, OR RESEARCH STEPS REQUIRED TO OBTAIN SOLUTIONS, TO THE PROBLEMS/ISSUES POSED BY SUCH DIFFERENCES WILL BE OUTLINED AND DISCUSSED. IMPROVED SAFETY POTENTIAL OF DBFW AIRCRAFT BY VIRTUE OF TASK-TAILORED HANDLING QUALITIES WILL RECEIVE PARTICULAR ATTENTION.
