Abstract
OXIDE DISPERSION STRENGTHENED ALLOYS HAVE THE ADVANTAGE OF HIGH TEMPERATURE STRENGTH. HOWEVER, CONVENTIONALLY THEY AREMADE BY POWDER METALLURGY AND CANNOT BE MELTED, CAST OR WELDED WITHOUT LOSING STRENGTH. THIS PROPOSAL SUGGESTS THATODS ALLOYS CAN BE MADE BY CASTING IF THE OXIDE DISPERSOID ISMETALLOPHILIC. A FUNDAMENTAL STUDY OF THE CASTING PROCESS IS PROPOSED.
