Abstract
TO COMBINE THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THERMAL STABILITY, DIELECTRIC STRENGTH, CLARITY, TRACTABILITY, AND RESISTANCE TO THE AEROSPACEENVIRONMENT, THREE MOIETIES WILL BE INCORPORATED INTO A POLYMER BACKBONE: TETRAPHENYLSILANE, HEXAFLUOROISOPROPYLIDENE, AND OXADIAZOLE. FACILE REACTIONS ARE PROPOSED TO RESULT IN AN HOMOLOGOUS SERIES OF POLYMERS WHICH WOULD ALLOW THE CAREFUL DETERMINATION OF THE RELATIONSHIP OF PROPERTIES TO STRUCTURE AND THEN THE SYNTHESIS OF THE MOST USEFUL MATERIAL.
