Abstract
THE PROGRAM IS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT AND DEMONSTRATION OF HIGHPERFORMANCE FLEXIBLE HEAT PIPES FOR USE IN THERMAL MANAGEMENT OF SPACECRAFT. THE APPROACH IS BASED ON COMBINING SEVERAL PROVEN TECHNOLOGIES: FLEXIBLE SCREEN ARTERIES AND HIGH PERFORMANCE CIRCUMFERENTIAL DISTRIBUTION WICKS WITHIN AN ENVELOPE WHICH IS FLEXIBLE IN THE ADIABATIC HEAT TRANSPORT ZONE.
