Abstract
PARTNERSHIPS BETWEEN SMALL COMPANIES AND LARGE PRIMARY MANUFACTURERS ARE DIFFICULT TO FORM, BUT CAN HAVE SUBSTANTIAL BENEFIT. THE PROPOSED RESEARCH WILL DEVELOP A NW INDOOR AIR QUALITY SENSOR FOR AUTOMOTIVE APPLICATIONS. A COLLABORATIVE EFFORT BETWEEN TRANSDUCER RESEARCH, INC. AND FORD MOTOR CO. WILL INVESTIGATE THE FEASIBILITY OF A NEW ADVANCED ELECTROCHEMICAL SENSOR WITH IMPROVED LIFETIME, RUGGEDNESS AND LOWER COST. THESE FEATURES COULD MAKE THE ELECTROCHEMICAL SENSOR A VIABLE ALTERNATIVE FOR AUTOMOTIVE CABIN AIR QUALITY MEASUREMENT AND CONTROL DEVICES. THE CONCEPT WILL BE EVALUATED BY BUILDING A POTENTIAL USER, FORD MOTOR CO.
