Abstract
Tripletail Ventures, Inc. aims to facilitate the creation, adoption, organization, update, transmission, portability, and sharing of rural patient health records, specifically for a Medicare certified dialysis unit. Many rural dialysis units in Iowa do not have access to their patients complete records, spend considerable time and expense tracking vital information from other providers, and do not have the information technology staff or budget to improve their processes. Without complete information available to the dialysis unit staff, patients are often frustrated with repetitive and technical questions regarding their condition and treatment. In an environment where no one has complete access to a patients full history of diagnosis, hospital care, and skilled care, mistakes can be more easily made. Tripletail intends to facilitate the availability and usability of dialysis records through a three tiered process. 1) Stop dialysis records from being handwritten and begin entering records electronically. 2) Enable all dialysis patient records with Tripletails patented 2D tagged barcodes, which are inexpensive portable databases in paper or digital format. 3) Enable dialysis units to accept and share 2D tagged barcode records as accurate, efficient, and HIPAA compliant method for transmitting, sharing, and entering data into existing, often disparate systems.
