Abstract
Decontamination of hardware exposed to chemical agents remains to be a significant problem. Past approaches using hypochlorites, DS2, M11 & M280 systems have been effective but unfortunately at the expense of degrading & corroding painted surfaces, metals and elastomers. This proposed program will develop novel, noncorrosive aqueous emulsions containing visible light activated photocatalysts which will be capable of decontaminating a wide variety of chemical warfare agents.
