Abstract
The need for durable composite shelters for the replacement of current metal and composite shelters has been previously demonstrated. The composite tactical shelter program at Webcore Technologies has proven the ability of thermoset TYCOR technology to withstand much of the mishandling associated with standard shelter use. The incorporation of reinforced thermoplastics into the robust TYCOR panels has been further shown to provide the best durability for shelter panel solutions. In this Phase II proposal, Webcore Technologies plans to build two reinforced thermoplastic composite ISO tactical shelters. In order to accomplish this, Webcore Technologies will design and build the thermoplastic TYCOR consolidation machine needed to produce the thermoplastic shelter panels. The design and production of reinforced thermoplastic panels is crucial to the overall shelter development program.
