Research Institution
An adaptive cancellation system will be designed, built and tested to mitigate own ship WSC-6 SATCOM transmissions which degrade the DF operation of the AN/SLQ-32A EW System. Hardware development of a prototype cosite interference canceler (CIC) is proposed to mitigate the interference effects of WSC-6 SATCOM transmissions on the direction finding (DF) subsystem of its own ship EW AN/SLQ-32A(V). Shipboard testing of an experimental model CIC is proposed to verify its design and quantify its performance. A more advanced prototype design will then be developed and tested that integrates the CIC electronics with the existing AN/SLQ-32A(V) hardware as the next step toward a production design. CIC success will be determined by acceptable DF performance during simultaneous operation of both the WSC-6 and SLQ-32A.
