Abstract
THIS PROJECT IS BEING SUPPORTED TO DEVELOP AND MARKET A RAPID, SIMPLE AND INEXPENSIVE TEST DEVICE WHICH CAN BE USED BY NON-LABORATORY TRAINED PERSONNEL IN FIELD SIT- UATIONS TO RAPIDLY SCREEN AND DETECT TRICHINELLA IN INFECTED SWINE. IT IS ANTICIPATED THAT THE PROCEDURE WILL REQUIRE ONLY ONE STEP, BE RAPID, REQUIRE NO LABORATORY INSTRUMENTATION AND BE DESIGNED SO THAT MULTIPLE SAMPLES CAN BE SIMULTANEOUSLY TESTED.
