THE FLOW OF DATA WITHIN THESE SYSTEMS HAS BECOME INCREASINGLY IMPORTANT IN THE OVERALL ALNALYSIS OF THE SYSTEMS. THIS COMPUTER/COMMUNICATIONMERGER HAS SEVERAL OFFSHOOTS, NOT THE LEST SIGNIFICANT OF WHICH IS DISTRIBUTED DATA PROCESSING. THE ANALYSIS OF THE FLOW OF DATA THROUGH THESE INTERFACING NETWORKS IS COMPLICATED, BUT ESSENTIAL TO THE DESIGN OF OPTIMALLY CONFIGURED SYSTEMS. THE ANALYSIS OF THIS FLOW USING SOPHISTICATED MATHEMATICAL TOOLS IS PROPOSED AS THE SUBJECT FOR THIS RESEARCH.
