Abstract
THIS PROPOSAL IS FOR THE BREADBOARD FABRICATION, TEST, AND OPTIMIZATION OF A UNIQUE LASER ORIENTATION TRANSCEIVER SYSTEM (LOTS) TO CONCLUSIVELY DEMONSTRATE ITS FEASIBILITY. THE LOTS IS TO MEASURE THE RELATIVE ORIENTATION (PITCH, YAW,AND ROLL) BETWEEN ITS LOCAL COORDINATE SYSTEM AND ANOTHER TARGET COORDINATE SYSTEM CONTAINING A SPECIALIZED TARGET ENHANCER. SUCH A SYSTEM WOULD BE USEFUL TO SUPPORT AUTOMATION OF SPACECRAFT RENDEZVOUS, STATION-KEEPING, AND DOCKING.
