AbstractAccurate Time Space Position Information (TSPI) has become invaluable on all test ranges for all platforms. As the navigation accuracy of aircraft and weapon systems improves, the requirements placed upon TSPI sources and the cost of accurate TSPI have become more and more unmanageable. At Eglin AFB, the trend is towards a GPS based TSPI system. Several methods have been tested with varying degrees of success and reliability. Drawbacks to these systems are combinations of size, expense, performance, and inability to provide a real-time solution. There exists a need for a TSPI system that is adaptable to a variety of platforms, GPS based (<1 meter accuracy) for reliability and all weather capability, conformal and miniaturized so as not to affect test vehicle aerodynamics, ruggedized, compatible with existing ground reception equipment, and suitable for both real-time and post-mission data analysis. Because of recent experience on the EDGE, Miniaturized Munition Technology Demonstation (MMTD), and Hammerhead programs. ASEI is uniquely qualified to develop this TSPI system. We will draw upon the knowledge and hands-on experience gained in these programs to specify and develop a Miniature Munitions Aerodynamic Global Positioning System (GPS) Receiver/Transmitter (MMAGRET) system that will meet the characteristics listed above.
