Abstract
During the Phase I program, Mustang engineers collected radar data on dogs, cattle and other animals and compared it to existing human data to find extractable features and begin development of algorithms to discriminate between humans and animals. Phase I resulted in a rudimentary algorithm that can be used to discriminate humans and animals based only on the radar returns. In Phase II we propose to continue the algorithm development in search of increasingly robust algorithms. We will also collect additional animal data for testing. Finally, we will also begin development on moving-platform radar data.
