Abstract
Early identification of indicators or behaviors of adversarial intent is critical to protecting US soldiers from attack during counter-insurgency and peace-keeping missions. Furthermore, the enemy goes to great lengths to hide his activities, making detection even more difficult. Modus Operandi proposes the development of Clear Heart, an innovative system for recognizing adversarial intent from indicators present in hard biosensor data and soft intelligence data. Clear Heart identifies and extracts"malintent"features from these sources, transforming and fusing them into instances of concepts and relationships within a contextualized, semantic model. Probabilistic algorithms then determine the likelihood of adversarial intent based on the fused evidence and present that information to warfighters quickly and easily. This capability will significantly improve a soldier"s ability s to detect adversarial intent in tactical situations.
