Abstract
ABSTRACT: Technical Directions Inc. (TDI) has developed a family of low cost propulsion systems for small air vehicles that will provide all necessary propulsion functions for sustained flight. A turbine-based engine-generator is utilized to provide the vehicle propulsion and all necessary electrical power for onboard functions within a small installed package. A team with representatives from the U. S. Air Force, an aerospace prime contractor, and TDI has been formed to convert this SBIR sponsored propulsion technology to power a gravity weapon in flight. TDI will resize an existing propulsion system to provide the necessary propulsion system features for operation of a newly identified weapon system. Operational prototypes will be designed, built, and tested to confirm full operational capability of the new propulsion system. BENEFIT: This program will provide a general purpose turbojet engine-generator system that will also provide the propulsion for other applications such as missiles, targets, decoys, UAVs, and other small aircraft of a similar size to the subject application for this program.
