Research Institution

Integument Technologies, Inc. proposes to develop a new pressure sensitive adhesive system for application onto paint replacement applique technology. A new adhesive will be developed and demonstrated in order to meet Navy demands within an aircraft tempereature regime from -65 deg. F to 285 deg. F or higher. The proposed adhesive technology will be developed using unique nano-infusion technology in order to increase the operable temperature range of an acrylic/urethane based pressure sensitve adhesive (PSA). The PSA developed in the Phase I increment of this project will be demonstrated on several applique materials including fluoropolymer, polyurethane, polyimide, and nylon.
