AbstractWe shall develop a dynamic agent web architecture and software prototype that builds on top of COTS database integration technology to deliver view management and data mining services.The data mining services shall consist of case based reasoning and association. We shall use case based reasoning and association agents in identifying new links and relationships within data contain in shipboard information systems. Case based reasoning can be used to identify new links and relationships by looking at past similar events. For example, if a certain part is required on board ship that is currently out of stock, a case based system could identify a part that could be used in its place based on past events. Association technology looks at many types of different database transactions and identifies patterns. Association technology can be used, as an example, in logistics in tracking assets for a period of time. O The view management services shall provide the capability of creating and maintaining current views from an integrated collection of databases. Users shall be able to create and maintain views from a Java enabled HTML browser. Users shall be able to identify the types of fields they wish to access visually, without having to know the specific name of the database where the information is contained. We shall deliver the view management service leveraging off of 21st Century Technologies Inc' commercial product, MAVIS 1.0. MAVIS 1.0 is built on top of the Oracle Universal Server.
