AbstractThis project will develop improved sensor fusion of underwater surveillance and fire control related ]data based upon biologically inspired data association and sensor fusion techniques. In this _proposed SBIR, AAC will examine under-sea surveillance requirements for providing contact data hassociation for two or more contacts in the littoral environment. We will analyze biologically-inspired [techniques to perform all source data assimilation, fusion and correlation, and develop an darchitecture that will easily integrate with the Navy's Neurally Inspired Contact Estimation (NICE) \component. We will also develop a neural network-based system design inspired by biological fphenomenon, to be used in the all-source real-time data assimilation, fusion and correlation process; \develop a Phase II plan for the development of the Biologically Motivated Neural Processing cArchitectures for All-Source Data Association and Fusion; provide a test plan and deliver a final report. RWe propose to develop the advanced Biologically Motivated Neural Processor (BMNP).ein a prototype COTS workstation. In this SBIR, AAC will develop the workstation architecture and the \capability to incorporate a number of biologic sensor fusion models. This work will lay the ffoundation for a Phase II program in which AAC will perform the development of the "fully functional" prototype system.
