Many organizations have personnel performing complicated tasks at consoles. In many cases these tasks are defined by checklist procedures, complicated lists of the actions that need to be taken, as well as the readings that show the action was taken correctly. In the past, these checklists have been presented to personnel as paper documents, which have severe limitations and impose significant burdens on the personnel and organizations in terms of finding the proper procedure, ensuring that the procedure is up-to-date, executing it, and updating it as technology changes. TRAClabs, Inc, proposes a unique system to capture the knowledge of the checklist in an electronic format, present it to the personnel through a computer, and track the progress of the work items in a database; we call this software suite the Checklist Execution Software Service, or CHESS. In order to do this, our team will leverage existing software that we developed for NASA to do similar tasks. Our system will provide automated help to the user on the task at hand, keep track of place in a frequently complex set of work tasks, improve situational awareness, and streamline the methods of creating and disseminating checklists.Approved for Public Release 14-MDA-7663 (8 January 14)
