AbstractThis SBIR project will determine the feasilibility of acoustic interference rejection techniques for a submarine acoustic intercept system. The signal processing techniques developed will permit the continuous tracking of active weapon sonars in the presence of interference from countermeasures and other sources. Existing submarine acoustic sensors will be used. Multiple emitter location techniques will be developed to allow separation of desired signals and interference which overlap in frequency and time. Time delay estimation techniques will be developed for rejection of decoy countermeasure signals. The algorithms will be developed, tested and sized for implementation in a COTS signal processor.
