AbstractThe goal of this program is to develop a low cost, flexible manufacturing method for the production of Cf reinforced composites for ablation-resistant propulsion components for Theater Missile Defense (TMD) concepts. The matrix material selected for demonstration of the technology will be HfC, a material which has demonstrated good oxidation and ablation resistance at elevated temperatures.
