Abstract
ACS PROPOSES TO DEVELOP A REAL TIME NWWS PERFORMANCE MONITORING CAPABILITY UTILIZING A 386 PERSONAL COMPUTER, MICROSOFT WINDOWS, AND AN OFF-THE-SHELF SERIAL INTERFACE BOARD. THE ACS DEVELOPED WEATHER WIRE AUTOMATIC MONITORING SYSTEM (WWAMS) WILL PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING FEATURES: A. REAL TIME PERFORMANCE MONITORING, QUALITY CHECKING, REPORT GENERATION, AND USER INTERFACE; B. COLOR, MENU DRIVEN, USER-FRIENDLY INTERFACE; C. USER ENTRY OF MONITORING PARAMETERS AND ACCEPTABLE PERFORMANCE LIMITS BY WWS MESSAGE TYPE; D. USER DEFINED ALARM CONDITIONS; E. USER CUSTOMIZED PERFORMANCE SUMMARIES; F. ABILITY TO ADD NEW FUNCTIONS AS REQUIREMENTS CHANGE. PHASE 1 OBJECTIVES WILL BE TO FINALIZE WWAMS REQUIREMENTS AND COMPLETE A TOP LEVEL DESIGN. ACS WILL DEVELOP THE WWAMSDURING PHASE 2.
