Abstract
Developing low cost, lightweight, multifunctional Radiation Hardened materials with high specific stiffness, that are environmentally safe, provide low risk/liability, designable structures is extremely important for the Department of Defense in this current climate of reduced spending. As new Radiation Hardening requirements are identified for DoD programs, the development of lightweight, Radiation Hardened multi-functional materials to reduce component weight, while not increasing the cost of manufacturing are needed today. In this Phase II program, APS Inc has a world class team to continue the successful development of Multifunctional Rad Hard Materials for use in MDA programs. The program will provide additional data and information necessary to increase the TRL of the materials systems being developed. Upon completion of the Phase II, APS should be well positioned to move to commercializing these unique materials.
