Abstract
Advanced Scientific Concepts has developed a compact, flash ladar 3D camera. It's very small size makes it well suited to the serpentine robot. It is not a scanning ladar, but instead takes a 128x128 pixel image with a single flash of laser light and can acquire 30 frames per second. Photographs at several kilometers are obtained with a miniature, 22 millijoule high powered laser of our design that can be adapted to fit within the serpentine robot. We propose to adapt this camera to fulfill the 3D photographic requirements of this solicitiation.
