This program develops a single photon detector system for quantum cryptography over links up to 200 km. The innovation is the integration of circuitry, dual-mode detectors for increased data rates, and a highly sensitive detector on a transparent substrate. The approach including means for coupling the polarization and/or phase encrypted single-photon signals.
