AbstractThe proliferation of both real-time and non-real time legacy models has produced a genuine problem with integrating these models effectively. Automated integration is required to permit the analyst to focus on performance and cost effectiveness analysis instead of cumbersome data manipulation. The primary objective of this Phase I effort is to produce a prototype design of an Automated Model Interconnect Tool (AMIT) for identifying, extracting, transforming and integrating data between dissimilar legacy models. An AMIT can be used to support concept exploration and analysis of aeronautical weapon systems. Drawing upon lessons learned from current model integration efforts, the focus of this research proposal is on prototyping a generic technique for data transformation and demonstrating the feasibility of an AMIT. Innovative technologies centered around object request broker architectures; synchronized data timing and control; high-speed, high-bandwidth, communication networks; and massively parallel hardware architectures will be used to produce a design solution to this model integration problem.
