AbstractThis proposed effort is for the design and demonstration of a new generation software processor that applies Artificial Intelligence, Expert System, and Fuzzy Logic technologies to conservative electromagnetics (EM) analysis methodologies. The proposed capability, AE3EXPERT, represents an innovative step in the advancement of conservative analysis and prediction techniques based initially on the application of commercial expert tools to a set of discrete EM computer models used for studying the effects of incident energy on systems. The processor is intended to optimize E3 modeling, design synthesis, simulation, and analysis tasks and in particular, recommend appropriate cancellation/rejection schemes for several types of interferers, susceptor jamming environments, and spread spectrum transceivers. AE3EXPERT will surpass the capabilities and performance of traditional EM codes, yet it will build upon and augment their inherent capabilities. This includes the addition of time domain models and signal processing techniques. AE3EXPERT will address requirements for performing computer analysis culls (surveys) to help assure system/product life cycle operability and desired performance in support of mission objectives. It will provide government and industry users: a conservative E3 simulation capability to perform (component to system) modeling, design synthesis, and culling analyses; a bridge between highly coarse models and accurate solutions associated with circuit simulators and robust, numerical CEM codes; an adjunct battleforce asset management tool for military decision makers and system operators to jointly determine EM environment driven mission/system/theater deployment and risk reduction strategies in support of government Information Warfare/Dominance and Sensor to Shooter Programs; a complement to real time stimulators to develop test and evaluation beds, and for collecting measured data to derive empirical models (a smart Xauto learningS system); and an Sintelligent agents for commercial, private sector industries to enhance in house productivity and competitiveness.
