Abstract

This project combines 3D computer graphics and gaming technology to provide a nonlinear, immersive biology simulation ca lled OrganiSims. OrganiSims will be designed to convey highlevel biology concepts in a manner that engages high school students, and unify biology concepts while illustrating how these concepts interact. OrganiSims will enable students to observe and experiment with the key biological concepts through an online, persistent, multiuser biology simulation of virtual organisms. The OrganiSims simulation will allow students to create virtual organisms species that will exist in a simulated environment.
