Abstract

QM Power's Q-Sync electric motor technology uses less electronic components to reach and maintain a synchronous speed. Q-Sync promises to enable higher efficiency and lower cost than state-of-the-art fan motors currently sold on the market. In this Phase I SBIR proposal, QM Power proposes an R&D effort to determine the feasibility of utilizing its proprietary technology in fixed, mult-speed, and variable speed Basket and Box fan motor applications for animal housing ventilation. The company will collaborate with the Kansas State University and the University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension to design and optimize farm duty fan motors for animal housing environments.
