Abstract
The war against terrorism in Afghanistan has underscored the importance of using UAVs as long-dwell-capable Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance assets. Tactical UAVs having time-series imaging (i.e., video-like) capability are extremelyimportant to be able to detect partially obscured, transient movements and to calculate precise locations of targets of high interest in order to deliver effective retaliation against asymmetric attacks (Such a capability also can provide enhancedtargeting for sea-based fire support utilizing the future Extended Range Guided Munition). Finally, accurate target positioning from UAV's could provide support to special operations teams through situational awareness and
