Abstract
Current models do not include realistic representations of sea spike generators, such as breaking or near-breaking waves. This STTR proposal will address this short-coming by developing realistic physical models of sea spike generation and incorporating these models into existing state-of-the-art hydrodynamics and radar scattering models. By overcoming a major hurdle, this work will represent a major step towards the goal of a comprehensive rigorous model of radar scattering from the ocean surface.
