AbstractDuring Phase I of the Anti-Terrorism SBIR Argon Engineering Associates investigated Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) architectures for integrating a common and versatile VHF Sensor at both land sites and aboard Class II Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) for both direction finding (DF) and signal time/frequency difference of arrival (T/FDOA) measurement used for precision geolocation. The goal of Phase II is to implement this system architecture with other SBIR participants providing additional electro-optic and RF sensors in a coordinated multi-intelligences demonstration to derive actionable intelligences for the warfighter. During the proposed Phase II demonstration off the Southern California coast, Argon will install three landbased and two UAV systems for VHF signal intercept, signal classification and alerting, DF signal localization, and coordinated T/FDOA geolocation. Argon proposes to integrate its sensor capabilities onto a common network to ensure distributed Navy elements have a coordinated network centric capability for tasking, processing, posting and using (TPPU) targeting information for indications and warning (I&W) and target prosecution.
