Abstract
This proposal describes an SBIR Phase II program to develop, optimize, and demonstrate the effectiveness of hybrid composite armor for AAAV. Hybrid composite armor systems, comprised of unique combinations of dissimilar composite materials, offer lightweight protection at a much lower cost than other high performance composites. Ballistic protection data and models for commercial composite armor. Improved composite armor technology applicable to bullet and fragment armor systems. Improved ceramic armordesigns that reduce cost and impove multiple threat protection of ceramic armors against armor piercing bullets. Composite armor design.
